Regional Community Development
Inclusion WA works alongside local community groups and sporting organisations to organise and run inclusive school holiday programs in regional areas of Western Australia.
The programs aim to create more connected, supportive communities that are welcoming, inclusive and give more opportunities for people who are socially isolated to participate in their community.
Inclusion WA currently assists the communities of Broome, Karratha, Carnarvon, Northam and Esperance to run inclusive school holiday programs, with a total of over 1700 participants attending each school holidays.
The Inclusive Holiday Program in Karratha has been instrumental in giving people from a range of minority backgrounds a voice in our local community. Careful consideration was given to all people from marginalised backgrounds in the development of the program. The program has really united the entire community and has had a positive effect on the lives of many living in the Pilbara. Madge Mohi, DSC REGIONAL MANAGER
