Tell us about yourself and how you got here.

I was born overseas and moved to Canberra when I was around ten - but don’t hold that against me! Although I grew up in Canberra, I travelled around a lot with cricket and first visited Perth in 1998 when I was fourteen. Straight away I knew this was the place I wanted to call home... My travels included several seasons in the UK and Ireland before I FINALLY saw the light and moved to Perth in 2008.

I have spent many years working in both the disability sector and the sport and rec sector - this unique combination is what brought me to Inclusion WA. I joined Inclusion WA in June 2011 and have loved every minute of it!!

Can you tell us something cool about your local area?

Our area seems to be a very active area- we always see people out running, walking, exercising their pets and generally soaking up the great outdoors. I love that I live in a leafy suburb with reasonable sized blocks! I grew up playing front-yard and back-yard cricket and I want the same for when I have kids. Our area also has some great small businesses and I enjoy supporting them by buying local…

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?

Most people tend to buy a car and stick with it for years or until it is no longer running... I never buy a car thinking that I will own it for more than 6-8 months... I love changing cars and love driving different vehicles..

I am also a bit impulsive so if I find a bargain, I generally buy it and deal with the consequences later!!

Pretty much the best song in the world is….

I’m going to get greedy and mention a few here as I can’t choose just one…

  • Nenjukulle – From the movie Kadal
  • She’s my Kind of Rain – Tim McGraw
  • I’ll be Missing You – Puff Daddy ft Faith Evans
  • Unanswered Prayers – Garth Brooks

What is your favourite way to spend a Saturday?

Well, I am a glutton for punishment so for 6-7 months of the year, I play cricket… all day, each Saturday!!!

Out of cricket season, I would say: an early gym session/run followed by a walk along the beach with the puppy and then a lovely brunch overlooking the Indian Ocean!! Bliss!

What do you love to do in your spare time?

I have a number passions away from sport… these include woodwork, DIY stuff (Bunnings is my favourite shop by far), keeping fit (gym, running), real estate,  listening to music, travelling, hanging with my dog (a Groodle called Ted), going out to dinner with family and friends and spending time with those I love!!

What is one of your favourite quotes?

Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.” Confucius
